Smoked sockeye salmon in a retort pouch, or “flexible can” does not require refrigeration. Smoked salmon is vacuum-sealed into the pouch. Then the pouch receives heat processing to 250 F. Like cans the pouch may be stored on your shelf until opened. After opening pouch, store in refrigerator. Shelf life is about seven years. Comes in 4 oz and 8 oz pouches.
